The Snake's Tongue

I am especially interested in pictures of snakes. It is something about the way they move so gracefully and with such precision even though they don’t have legs. This picture really spoke to me because they snake is looking right at me with its tongue out; it’s almost like it is saying something.

About Alex: "My name is Alex Fleming. I am 17 years old and live in Chicago. Recently I have made some poor choices which resulted in my placement in Northwest Passage II. But I have planned to change my lifestyle. Here I have discovered that I have an interest in nature photography and that I can use it to extend my passion for nature."

The water flows over me
as I lay there in the stream.
It's so cool.
So refreshing.
It makes me never want to leave.
But I must be like the current
and keep moving forward.

My name is Robert but call me Bobby. I'm from Prentice, WI. I'm 14 years old. My parents love me and care for me very much, but I've had some problems. I now want to better myself. I want to have a good job and a good education and a good job to support a family like my parents did for me. Photography is a crutch for me, but a good crutch--not like drugs or alcohol. It lets me get away from my problems and makes everyhting less stressful. I love photography so much, and I'm going to get a camera when I get home."

This picture reminds me of my grandmother. The sparkels remind me of her eyes when she's happy. The blue in the picture remindes me of her because it is her favorite color, and the brightness reminds me of her because whenever you're down or hurt she always has something to say to brighten up your day.

About David: "My name is David, and I'm from Hayward, WI. I like waterskiing, fishing, canoeing, and pretty much anything in the outdoors. I hope to go to tech school and open my own auto body shop. In the past I used to do well. I was in boy scouts and I never narcotics until about two years ago when my dad died from cancer. Photography has helped me a lot. It's helps me forget everything that's bothering me, and feel like life is ok."

Sometimes emotions make me wonder,

Why I keep myself from going back under,

Then I start to realize,

That my life is reality,
