My name is Devin. I'm 16 year-old sophomore from Madison, Wisconsin I’ve lived in many different foster homes throughout the state of Wisconsin. I am currently at Northwest Passage and am going to live with my grandmother. Photography is a big part of my life here because it is something I enjoy and not have any worries.

My name is Chris, and I’m from Hayward. I’m 15, and in the 10th grade. When I turn 18, I want to become a professional photographer. Photography is something I love, and it’s a way that I’ll make a living some day.

My name is Aarin. I’m 15 years old, from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and I have a voice to be heard. I am quite stubborn. I push for what I believe in and won’t stop with something once it is in my head. The pictures I take and music I listen to and take ideas from are sometimes gloomy. A lot of my pictures are under-exposed, to let in very little light, making it very hard to see on the camera, but once it is enlarged, it gives the effect of subdued or sad emotions.

My name is Craig. I’m thirteen and I am from Crandon, Wisconsin. I go to Crandon Middle School. I come from a very confusing life and family. But I’ve been trying to look past all of my problems. When I get older I would like to graduate high school and go onto college and get a degree. Then become an accountant or photographer in California. Photographing is a big part of life to me, it helps me express myself and the way I think and feel.

I have had a lot of problems with substance abuse, but I am turning things around thanks to Northwest Passage. My dream is to be an underwater welder when I get older. For me, nature photography is a way to get away from all my problems. It was something I didn't really know about or care about when I came here, but the more I worked at it, the more I turned out to love it. Now it’s my passion."

I’m De’Vante, and I’m 16 from Madison, WI. I’ve made mistakes in the past, but now I’m working on getting trust back from my loved ones. Photography has helped me express the artistic and creative side in me, and there’s no better way than taking pictures out in nature.

I’m Evan, and I’m 12 years old. Photography is a lot fun, and it’s a great way to get outside to explore the river and the forests. I love taking pictures of animals and water.

I’m Jake, and I'm a freshmen from Oregon, WI. I’ve been through a rough time in my life, and I’ve made a lot of bad decisions, but I’m hoping to turn around my life now so I don’t go any more downhill then I already am. But when I get out of here I hope to explore the same habits that I made at NWPII like running and working out every day because I think I’ve gone a really long way since I’ve been here. I love this photography unit, and I think it has helped me express myself.

Hi, my name is Jermaine. I’m 16, and I like to hang out with friends and I love going fishing. One thing I hope to do is to finish high school and do something good with my life. I also like photography. What I like about it is getting outside and exploring new photos and wildlife.

I’m Jody, and I’m from Sun Prairie, WI. I’m 17 years old and in 12th grade. I am whatever you want to call me. But if you knew me, you would know that I strive to be happy, and that I’m a dreamer. But above all else, I can do nothing but hope and pray for the good to overcome my life . . . to become me. This happens through all the different ways of expressing myself, and photography is just one of them.
